About the Examination
The examination consists of 120 multiple choice questions addressing selected accreditation standards and CMS Conditions of Participation for acute care hospitals. The content is reviewed and revised on an annual basis as changes to standards and regulations occur. The examination is issued annually in January of each year.
If a standard or regulation changes during the year, and the nature of the change affects one of the exam questions, the correct answer to the question will continue to be the standard or regulation that was in effect at the time the exam was issued.
