| About HACP Examination |
Exam Content
The examination consists of 120 multiple choice questions addressing selected Joint Commission™ standards and CMS Conditions of Participation for acute care hospitals. The content is reviewed and revised on an annual basis as changes to standards and regulations occur. The examination is issued annually in January of each year.
If a standard or regulation changes during the year, and the nature of the change affects one of the exam questions, the correct answer to the question will continue to be the standard or regulation that was in effect at the time the exam was issued.

2010 Examination
How the Exam will be Administered
Applicants can take the examination on-line at their convenience in their home or office. In addition, a proctored examination is held each year in different regions of the country. The proctored exam is accompanied by a preparatory course offered the day before the examination. CIHQ has partnered with Exam Builder.com to administer the on-line examination. Exam Builder.com is used by some of the largest corporations in the United States and is the leader in web-based certification exams. |
